As the home of the noble Mazzara family, it was the scene of many lavish social celebrations that brought together the wealthy land owning aristocracy of the region.

         Subsequently, the property became the site of the famous Hotel Traffico that boasted the best chefs in all of Abbruzzo.  Located in the hub of the old city, it is walking distance to numerous shops, restaurants, museums and the historic sites of Sulmona.

         In January of 2002, Sulmona native and Boston restaurateur Filippo Frattaroli and his wife Anna Forlani Frattaroli purchased the property and began renovations that would restore it to its original architectural prominence overlooking Piazza Maggiore.
